The mountain dulcimer: when I was at Multnomah, once every Christmas I’d go into the coffee shop and play Christmas carols on it. After that time, I’d do something for Christmas on dulcimer somewhere. All that more or less came to an end when I moved to my current location, except for playing a few carols at our Christmas service. Humorously, my dulcimer is the only instrument I’ve named: Seymour.
This year, I’ll be back to performing Christmas carols and related music on dulcimer. As it stands right now, it looks like I’ll be performing twice, albeit both for private functions. It may turn out that I’ll be doing something more public, but for now, that is not known.
I am really looking forward to these performances. I’ve got a lot to prepare in order to get ready, and I’m already hard at work relearning and expanding my Christmas repertoire.
It should be a lot of fun.
